Arnold, Check out these pics... http://www.htmills.com/images/BBa01-PIBdockbow.jpg and http://www.htmills.com/images/LF-BuscaBowRoller01.jpg http://www.htmills.com/images/LF-BuscaBowRoller02.jpg http://www.htmills.com/images/LF-BuscaBowRoller03.jpg http://www.htmills.com/images/LF-BuscaBowRoller04.jpg http://www.htmills.com/images/LF-BuscaBowRoller05.jpg http://www.htmills.com/images/LF-BuscaBowRoller06.jpg Personally, I stopped using the Danforth in favor of a Bruce, in part because the Danforth has a nasty way of flopping at the wrong time. The Bruce, being a single piece, doesn't have that bad habit, plus seems to be a better all-around anchor, more likely to reset in a shift. Tod Mills M17 #408, 1987 galley model BuscaBrisas

Bill, Thanks for the quick comeback. My Monty has a chain locker and hause pipe in the bow for storage of rode On Apr 16, 2010, at 11:22 AM, Bill Wickett wrote:
Arnold,
I have not mounted an anchor on the bow yet. I keep it in a basket at the aft end of the cockpit with the rode tied off to a stern cleat. I can drop it over and then walk it forward as necessary. That is not ideal either but I don't want to leave the cockpit until the hook is on the bottom.
If you mount the anchor on the bow pulpit, what do you plan to do with the rode?

Glad you are in the water. We are still tarped over from the winter, house projects have to finished up and the weather is nice here in Ontario.

Monty owners! For years I have struggled with anchor storage on my M-17. I am considering a bow pulpit bracket but find 2 different types available: one type is a two piece arrgt. that hangs the anchor by the rod on the end of the flukes the other is a single piece that holds the flats at the bottom of the anchor. Your Opinions and experiences would be helpful. Thanks Arnold Sharpe M-17 "Little Breeze"....in the water for the season in Portland, Oregon.
