As we have in the past years, the Tucson Sailing Club will host the 34th annual International Cup Regatta in San Carlos Sonora. This is to be held over the Memorial Day Weekend. The race will be around islands / buoys in the San Carlos Area, one race on Saturday and one on Sunday. There are a number of social events, (as Jerry is well aware) and an awards banquet Sunday night. The race is always followed by a group cruise. Some head down to LaPaz, some up the coast to a variety of anchorages, or whatever. Plans are not yet firm for this year. All are invited to participate. As plans are firmed up, information is posted on the TSC website. HTTP://www.tucsonsailingclub.com We can assure you that the trip down and the associated cruising is safe. There are some tricks getting your boat into Mexico but it can easily be done on line. We will be glad to assist.. We need Montgomery's to participate to reestablish their trophy collecting status. I'd definitely be interested in a Mexico trip. June or October, with a slight preference for October.

If anybody in interested, I'm thinking about taking my Sage down to Mexico in June to float around for a week or so and would be happy to have some company. I'd go to the midriff area, probably launching either at Bahia De Los Angeles on the Baja Side and island hopping across, or the other way around, launching at Kino Bay.
I've done this area several times but not for about 20 or 25 years and really enjoyed it and it's time I did it again before I get too old. No marinas, no gas stops, no nothing, but I always caught enough fish to feed an army.
Usually light air but nobody but an idiot would go w/o a storm jib, need good ground tackle, lots of gas, water and sunscreen.
A group of 6 or 8 would be perfect.
