Is there any preventive maintenance steps possible to maintain or replace the center board pendent so dropping the board out of the boat is not required? Your board is likely going be in this orientation as there is no longer a pendent holding it up. The spacing is tight so you may not be able to thread the new pendent into the board (be sure to note the 'removing center core of the line' bit in the link). Much easier to drop the board. Thanks Carlos. Do you know if the board will come down far enough access the ring, or will the pivot pin have to be removed as well?

Hello, I have a 2002 Montgomery 15. Has anyone had to replace the line to their centerboard? I thought this would be easy, but I don't see how to get to it. A squirrel chewed through the line at deck level. The boat was on the trailer so the centerboard did not drop. There is a wood step in the way across the hatch entrance with a hole where the line ran through. I don't see any easy way to remove this either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Steve
