An idea:

If you need a quick reserve or temporary tiller, go to a mega- or any hardware store and buy a wheelbarrow handle. It's usually oak and has the right basic shape, probably needs some trimming at the butt (but who doesn't). I thought about getting one as a spare. Big. Thick. Husky. Heavy. A MANLY tiller. Manly, yes--but women like it, too.
