The last time I was out I used my stock main that has the 3 or 4 short battens. Unfortunately I left the battens in the truck. I sailed without them and although there was a leach little flutter toward the top I was able to take it out with the boom vang. I couldn't tell much difference. But then again I wasn't competing with anyone or making time trials. I got to my anchorage well before dark and the time difference may have been two swallows of beer!!! Is so, do you like the results? Any discernable performance difference from a battened main, with some positive roach? I like the idea of no battens to contend with. Thanks.
