M_Boats: San Francisco Bay?

I plan to trail my M-15 to the SCA Cruiser Challenge at Monterey on August 23. I would like to launch on San Francisco Bay for a few days before this race. I was thinking about launching at Brickyard, Richmond or Berkeley and renting a slip for a few days to daysail. Any advice? Last spring we looked at the Bay from the shore while 30+ knot winds were blowing. I will be hoping for more friendly weather. I do know the wind blows hard under the bridge most afternoons.
