Several years ago, I had Ullman make a beautiful main for a Newport 17 I restored. They were very attentive, and I was thrilled with the outcome. They had a loft in SoCal at the time... here's a link: http://www.ullmansails.com/lofts.html#top Karsten (M-15 #236) --- montgomery_boats-request@mailman.xmission.com wrote:

Now I have to reply, all my halyards are 3/16" or 4 mm.
The light genoa sheets are also 3/16 and not very friendly but they are hydrophobic and very light. Reef line - 3/16 Main Haly - 3/16 Headsail halys(2) - 3/16 Mainsheet tails are also 3/16 at the split. The working loads for this cordage is generally greater than the total weight of a M-17. Any of you skippers have sails made in southern California? I would like to get sails from local business.
Thanks

Is Schock Sailmakers still in business? They made Monty sails back in the 1970s.

I had four sails built and many of the old original boat sails for my?Flush Deck 17 repaired by Ullman in San Diego. They were excellent to work with, reasonable in price and very helpful. They shipped my stuff back and forth from SD to Tucson and I would recommend them highly. Tom is?my contact.
