I'm on a quest for the perfect sailing hat: Wide, full 360-degree brim, neck and face protection.
Craig, I bought some stuff from these folks: http://www.solumbra.com/index.htm They have a broad-brimmed hat, although being a sun hat it isn't water-repellant I don't think. I haven't had a chance to try it out. John Edwards owns one too (that's where I learned about it). After he gets back online maybe he'll say how he likes it. I also picked up a long-sleeved shirt and lightweight long pants from them. Pricey, though.
Does anyone know who might make an aluminum, stainless, or plastic bushing? I need a bushing, about 2 1/2" long, in aluminum, stainless, or a very tough plastic (Delrin?), for a 3/8" or 1/2" diameter pivot-pin. I absolutely cannot use a bronze (brass, copper) bushing. If you know of a manufacturer, do you know of a supplier?
McMaster-Carr has a lot of stuff, and then there is a web page http://www.machinist-materials.com/ with drops for sale. Tod
