When removing the cast iron centerboard, and if fairing it at all, be sure the hull is level side to side when replacing the board. I managed, during the months the cb was out and being faired to allow some of the boat jacks to settle just a bit. The result was that the boat was no longer level port to starboard and twisted JUST a bit and bound the cb when I replaced it. After some time spent futsing with it I checked the level, trued it up and the board slipped right back into the slot. Tom B.
