Rick, It's the recognition that "Plus I'm never going sell it" that led me to go ahead and make it unique. I am hoping that with some forethought the launching may not put me behind Abbey ;-) Quick release pins on the stem attachment for the bobstay, roller furlling drums permanently attached, quick release pins on the tacks of the jib and staystail and it may be possible to keep the main sail on the mast all of the time (need a cover and support though). After a season of use I should get the launching and rigging reasonably fast. That looks like a well thought out plan and executed very nicely. I too, can't wait to see it perform. However, it looks like a lot of rigging at the launch site. We'll have to schedule to put you in after Abbey. I like that you seem to be trying to perfect the M15 to suit your needs. Many of us M15 owners think that the next logical upgrade is an M17. But once you get over biggerboatitis it's easier to appreciate the virtues of the M15 especially for us single handlers. Your adventurous retrofit has got me thinking of making some interior changes (to essentially provide sitting headroom) that would require some cutting. Like your project, once I start cutting there's no turning back, but like Connie says, "It's just a boat". Plus I'm never going sell it. Rick M15 #337 Bluebird

Chips are flying, the sawdust is every where and the metal filings from the drilling are sticking in my shoes.? I am a happy hacker
I posted some pictures on http://montgomeryowners.com/gallery/index.php?cat=10055.
Lots of progress even though it was -4 deg F when I got up this AM.
The bow eye should be about 2 inchs above the water line but that puts it in a very awkward spot inside.? I had to cut two access ports and still have a hard time getting the nuts on.
My first attempt at shorting the shrouds was a real joke.? I might be able
to salvage a couple on the next try but I sure appreciate the quality of Jerry's work.? I guess I will have to send him some money.
I will likely raise the mast on Monday and string up the sail outline to confirm the sail layout and then order the sails.
I will mark all of the locations for all of the deck hardware while the mast is up so I can drill a lot more holes in the deck.
Enjoy
