Appropriate (don't know how to spell the French
word) to all the recent discussions about CB revival, just received a notice
from the National Park Service that might be interesting to folks in the SF Bay
area. It seems that the Small Craft Department of the SF Maritime National
Historic Park operates "classes, workshops & events", among which this year
is a session called "Introduction to Bronze Casting". It's billed as an
opportunity to learn how to do it all yourself.
There are several other classes dealing with such
subjects as oar & spar-making, principles of lofting, half-hull modeling,
etc. Looks like a great lineup, but I hasten to add that I have no direct
experience with the classes.
They don't appear to do Web contact, but the
telephone number of the Small Craft Dept. is 415.561.7120
