I have heard from people that race that the teak cockpit floor grating was heavy enough to noticeably hurt performance... I assume you are doing this to keep your feet dry. What I do is shove a microfiber rag in the drain hole to keep peoples feet dry, if it's calm conditions and zero chance of boarding waves. If it's rough, I'm getting wet anyways and don't worry about it and/or wear rubber boots. Was it made from a kit? Has it worked out for you? Thanks Capt Jim M15 Pelican
