Good afternoon from Rockport, Texas. My wife and I are considering purchasing a new M 17 for sailing out of Southwest Harbor, Maine. It will be our 2nd. The first was in 1983 which we stupidly sold after 3 years. So far we are planning to make a trip to the factory in December to take a look at the new production but, the folks at the plant have been less than enthusiastic about our making the trip. It makes us wonder what is up. We found Jerry Montgomery to be wonderful to work with in 1981 when we were building a Bristol Channel Cutter and using one of his dinks (absolutely the best tender ever built!) and also just teriffic when he delivered our M 17 to Corpus Christi, TX in 1983.
