My 2005 M17 was a 12 hour drive away in New Hampshire. I did a lot of talking and emailing with the owner before we went to look/test sail/take delivery if all was satisfactory. Did it all on one trip, to make the distance manageable. On Fri, Mar 5, 2010 at 1:22 PM, W David Scobie <wdscobie@yahoo.com> wrote:
the never seems to be flood of M-boats on the market. my observations are that you will see about 10-15 M15s and 5-10 M17s come on the used market each year. the 'rush' for sales are late winter and early spring (ie, this time of year).
one must be willing to travel/drive when M-boat lookin'. i'm one of the 'lucky' ones in finding my M15 just a few hours north of my home; SWEET PEA, my M17, was only 6-7 miles away ... but involved a ferry trip.

As the saying goes, "Good luck with that!" I looked for a used M17 for 2 years then finally concluded there weren't any. I bought a new one in August '09 and couldn't be happier! Mitch M17 656 Grace
