Tom,
I used Cetol "natural teak" on the mahogany gunwales of a dinghy I've been building. Very rich "new wood" translucent color on the mahogany without any of the kind of yellow, tan tones in original Cetol or Cetol light. The finish has a nice satin gloss which I like, but If you want a shinier finish you can get the clear Cetol gloss to put on as a final coat. Remains to be seen how well it will hold up in the sun.
I think it's a great product and would not hesitate to use it on a Montgomery's teak trim.
I pretended not to have read the label on the natural teak can, and so did not need to purchase any Interlux "Special thinner #216," or "Premium teak restorer" or even any "Interstrip" stripper. I did read the label on the "Special thinner 216" can and discovered that it was suspiciously similar to a common solvent found at any big box home store for a quarter of the price.
Once in a while I have this nightmare that the finish falls off the boat because I did not use "Special Thinner 216" and the "two rag" method (I used the "six paper towel" method). So far, however, it seems to be sticking and looks great. Your nightmares may vary.
Cheers,

I've used Cetol for years and I like it. As close to maintenance-free as you can get IMHO.
Has anyone used the Cetol Natural Teak finish? I take it you have to strip the old finish off and start anew.
Does it result in a 'natural' looking finish? Thanks. t
