You need to figure out if it is the board of the keel ballast. Look at the keel. Is it uniform in shape Port and syarboat? Bulges? Signs of rust wearing? Is the centerboard uniform in shape? Bulges? Signs of weeping rust? Did the board go down easily? Has it been 'getting snug' over time? If no to these questions it is unlikely that it just rusting ballast as it isn't like the rust suddenly explands in hours. Sometimes things get into the truck and jam the board. Small sticks, tree bits and people's in the cockpit and then falling into the cockpit drain can casue the issue you describe. See the MSOGphotosite.com for descriptions of dropping the M15 centerboard - search 'centerboard'. :: Dave Scobie :: M17 #375 SWEET PEA - m17-375.com :: M6'8" #650 :: SV SWALLOW - sv-swallow.com On Sun, Nov 11, 2018, 11:43 AM matthew bowers <offeringgoddesses@gmail.com wrote:
Hi folks,
I am looking for a used/new center board for a 1982 M15. I m not sure I need one but the last sail it refused to retract so I had to force it in as I pulled onto the trailer. Any advice on repair or where to obtain one would be great.
Thanks, Matthew in NM
