I have full batten sails made by Jerry's old sail maker Kern Ferguson. Kern suggested full battens. The downside is that sail shape adjustments are limited, without taking down the sail and changing batten pocket lengths. They are excellent light and moderate weather sails, at least the way I had them adjusted.
