My local home improvement center has two or three grades of indoor/outdoor carpet, with several colors in each grade. Home centers are generally cheaper than marine dealers. They also carry stainless steel staples for a staple gun, which are about three times the price of regular staples. It is my understanding that the nasty chemicals used in treated lumber are intended to repulse the little critters that attempt to dine upon it, as opposed to making the lumber water resistant. The glue they sell for outdoor carpet is claimed to waterproof bunk boards in a trailer application. Of course, any uncarpeted areas could be coated with some sort of water resistant compound.
