I am reluctant to go ahead with mounting the ladder that I have. I am reluctant to bore a large access hole in the transom. Will have to bore two holes if I also wish to install a new adjustable motor mount to replace the original fixed mount? I want to do this right....I don't want to use any wood anywhere in this installation. Will aluminum plate do the job? ----Larry M-15 hull # 189 -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces+larry.hughston=dgs.ca.gov@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces+larry.hughston=dgs.ca.gov@mailman.xmiss ion.com] On Behalf Of Flickasf@aol.com Sent: Monday, January 01, 2007 10:36 AM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: M_Boats: Re: montgomery_boats Digest, Vol 47, Issue 1/ladder I used to own a M 15, but am now the owner of a Flicka. I strongly recommend a permanently attached ladder on the transome. If you ever go over board, you will be able to climb back in. A mounting there also makes swimming a pleasure.
