Doug, Thanks for posting the pictures. They are great! Truly worth a thousand words. A couple of questions: - Regarding the attachment points for the boom vang. I see the bail on the boom, but how does the vang attach to the base of the mast? And how far up from the base of the mast is the attachment point? I have a vang for our M-15 but no a specific attachment point at the base of the mast. I have been trying to figure out how best to attach it and not have the attachment point get in the way when raising and lowering the mast. - The outhaul travel: I see that when your outhaul is eased there are several inches between the end of the boom and grommet in the sail. i.e. that your outhaul has several inches of travel. Without any tension on my outhaul the main nearly touches the end of boom and has only an inch or so of travel with the outhaul. Am I understanding your picture correctly, that you mainsail without tension is several inches from the end of the boom? My main is the original Kern from 1988 and may be stretched more than I realized. Great idea to move the end of the outhaul line farther up the mast. I can see were that would make it easy to adjust with the boom swung out. Thank you, Randy M-15 #407 ________________________________ From: montgomery_boats-bounces+randyg=cite.nic.edu@mailman.xmission.com on behalf of Doug Kelch Sent: Sun 1/9/2005 11:21 AM To: Montgomery Subject: M_Boats: M15 boom layout On an earliery posting some one had asked about my boom hardware layout. I put up 8 pictures at the funtigo site below. This configuration is not as it comes from the factory and may not work for you...... :-) It is merely provided to stimulate your own ideas. http://www.funtigo.com/dkelch?b=215326&p=start&c=1802951 The base site if the above link doesn't get there is: dkelch.funtigo.com and then select the M15 rigging album.
