I have one on my M17, real simple. 1. I have a small block attached to the bow stem . 2. 1/4" dia. line tied to the head of my Jib led through the block, then through a cam cleat on top of the cabin near the cockpit. Works great the cam cleat keeps the downhaul at arms reach and under control. To lower the Jib just uncleat the Jib halyard and take up on the downhaul. Does anyone have a layout for the line running aft? I don't want it interfering with the jib sheets.
