My jib halyard wond reach the bow cleat, pulpit, or stem fitting so I clip a short length of rope to the bow cleat. The rope has a ring in the end and the jib halyard attaches there. I then hold the jib halyard in one hand while raising the mast with the other. I cleat the jib halyard to the mast and VOILA! the mast stays up. After snapping the forestay in place. I drag the boom out of the cabin. the boom has the main already flaked to it so I dont have to rig the sail. I tow with the motor on the mount and the rudder in the back of the truck ready to drop in place. I little organization and its a quick job Don
