Norm, The location sounds like and after market feature. Does your rudder have a bungee cord running from the metal side plates through a hole in the tiller? If not it sounds like someone tried to make thier own style kick up rudder. The standard M15 rudder has a majic kick up rudder that has to be seen in action to be appreciated. Thanks Doug Kelch "Seas the Day" PS - send a picture off line or if you do not have a camera I could send you a picture of my beat up one. --- nbundek <nbundek@earthlink.net> wrote:
My recently purchased M15 has a 1/8" hole just below the bottom aluminum plate holding the rudder. The hole is on the backside of rudder above the water line. It looks like something should be connected.
Is this a place to hook up a line to lift the rudder blade out of the water in shallow water or beaching? If yes, can someone explain how to hook it up? Can the rudder blade be put back into the water the same way with a second line?
Thanks,
