In order to install my transom ladder, I mounted a Bomar hatch on the horizontal surface of the starboard cockpit seat. It is centered between the locker and the transom. And, in order to install my motor mount, I mounted a Bomar hatch on the horizontal surface of the port cockpit seat. I think they were about $35 each. I used a hole saw of about 2 inches to drill holes at the corners, and a reciprocating saw to make the straight cuts. Great storage for fenders and lines. Water tight. Very easy to check the mounting bolts for the OB, ladder and rudder. The hatch does stick up slightly above the seat, but is not uncomfortable and I do not sit there for long. Your mileage may...you know. steve Steve R. M-15 #119 Lexington, KY _______________________________________________ http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/montgomery_boats
