Hi Chesley. The remote tank was a standard one I got from Amazon, actually there were two but we only needed one. The other I had to pour into the truck once we were on the road headed home. The set up was one I learned about on this forum. Essentially you get a spare cap for the tank on the outboard, drill a hole in it and screw in a hose fitting, attach a hose between the remote tank and the fitting in the cap, and then pump fuel with a bulb pump from the big tank to fill the outboard tank. I usually wait until I hear the outboard running out, but the person that I heard about the remote tanks from I think said he just pumps 12 times every 20 minutes or something like that. The system really works great and we use it a lot when we'll be out more than one tank worth. We use a cheap inflatable dinghy and it works great for our purposes. The boat has a battery and plug in inflator. We use the inflator to inflate and deflate the dinghy is just a couple of minutes and then stow in under the port cockpit seat. Finishing the video in the last few weeks has got me itching too! Two things I would like to know. One, it looks as if you have a setup for a remote tank for the Honda. If so, where did it come from? Two, did you have a dinghy of some sort to get to the land? Again, thanks for the video. Makes me itching to get on the water. Chesley Sugg New Bern, NC On Apr 10, 2016, at 1:26 PM, David Grah via montgomery_boats wrote:
Last year we had a great trip to the Great Slave Lake in Canada with our 1986 Montgomery 15. I just finished a 22 minute video of it and posted it on Youtube: https://youtu.be/uFT6Li2cdzY
That video joins three other videos from that trip from sailing Waldo Lake, Ross Lake, and Maligne Lake in July of 2015. I hatched the idea of going to the Great Slave Lake when I realized it was about the same distance away from me as the North Channel on Lake Huron, but seemed more wild.
