I had to do my chainplate areas too. It was easy compared to the foredeck (from below).
I have been using epoxy products from System Three. They have a good website and a starter kit with a fabulous instruction booklet.
If you own a fiberglass boat, it's time to learn epoxy. The more you play with it, the better you understand it.
