Bruce, have you been out to Folsom Lake this week? Am going to try to get out tomorrow even if it rains......Larry Hughston M-15 Hull 189 -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Bruce King Sent: Saturday, May 19, 2012 11:52 AM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: M_Boats: Jack & Beth M15 stepping mast Welcome aboard folks. I usually single hand my M15 and am part of the Geezer crowd. My method goes like this: I use the topping lift line and run it through the bow anchor pulley. I feed the lower end of the line back to the starboard guide and jib cinch block. I still have to raise and lower the mast with my left hand while holding the line in my right hand. When the mast is vertical, I cinch the line in the block and go to ground level to secure the pins at the bow. Coming down, I reverse the procedure lowering it with the line to about 40 degrees, where I use both arms to support the mast. Be careful and good luck. Bruce King Fair Oaks, CA '84 M15
