Jerry, definitely tie it down, bow and stern as suggested in other responses. I use old jib sheets tied from the stern cleats down to the frame using a "riggers knot" which gives the effect of an inefficient block for a 2:1 power when tying off. With my 200 lbs x 2:1 x both sides I figure it has a hold down weight of about 800 lbs angled about 45 deg forward and down. Hello, I wonder if it's advisable to tie the boat to the trailer when towing long distances. If so , what is the best way. It seems that tie down straps would chaff the gel coat.
