I wanted to go with an inflatable as the tender for my M17, but most of the Tahiti/Sevylor type boats were heavy and way too bulky to store aboard. Fortunately, I stumbled over the little-known Alpackaraft.

These boats, handmade in Colorado, have tough, whitewater rated tubes and floor.  I went with the Caribou model. (Larger models are available)

Pluses:
Boat and 4-piece takedown paddle each store in bags the size of a small backpack tent
Very light weight 5lb, compared to 20lb+ for cheaper inflatables
Super durable. No worries dragging ashore or in/out of the cockpit
Innovative & efficient "Inflation Bag", stows small enough to put in your pocket

Minuses:
Price - Around $800
Size - Caribou model perfect for 1. Cramped for 2, but ok for ship-to-shore trips.
