Dan: I don't currently know of an available M17, but a bunch of us Monty boat people plus some others will be cruising the San Juan's in June. Hi, fellow M17 lovers--
I'm new to this list, having only recently discovered this great boat. I'm in the market for one now, and I'd drive some distance to get a good one.
I'm most interested in the four-berth model, though my wife is adamant about having a galley. I'm determined to somehow adapt the four-berth model to suit her. The earlier model that had a galley built in doesn't allow face-to-face seating, another not-unreasonable requirement.
We are planning a May trip at least into the San Juans, if not farther north. I'd like to circumnavigate Vancouver Island late next season.
I've been sailing for two years and most recently helped deliver a 1964 Cal 40 from Oahu to Astoria, Ore. after the Pacific Cup Race.
I'd very much appreciate any leads! My thanks to you all.
