Hi John, When we picked up our 1998 M17 in 2005 she had slats of wood glued to the interior of the cabin. Removing the old and molded wood left glue spots on the cabin roof. After removing the glue with a heat gun I lightly sanded the interior and applied several coats of Kilz primer. Over which I then applied two or three coats of a good quality exterior house paint, finding a stock color which closely matched the original. I attempted to duplicate the original black splatter finish but was unsuccessful and stuck with just the solid color of the paint. The paint was a close enough match that I did not need to repaint under the coamings. 5 years later all is holding up well. Where we live/sail is not a high humidity environment, which might effect your choice of what paint to use. Now that the sun is coming out (OK, maybe only once a week) in Oregon, I am thinking of painting the cuddy interior my older M-15 as it is a fairly bleak fiberglass/gray/mishmash. Has anyone had good, bad, or otherwise experience or suggestions with this such as what type of paint. problems?
