My M17 came to me with a CDI FF1 unit (which, by the way, worked fine, making me wonder whether the FF2 is really necessary).
Interesting... If you look up the specs: https://www.sailcdi.com/flexible-furlers ...the FF1 says max 21 ft. forestay, a couple feet shy of an M17. So the extrusion would be too short, by a foot or more, unless you had the tack quite high off the bow. The extrusion is .1 inches smaller in both dimensions so using the longer FF2 extrusion in the FF1 molded drum unit would not work. The drum is 1/2" bigger diameter on the FF2 (4" vs 3.5"). cheers, John -- John Schinnerer - M.A., Whole Systems Design -------------------------------------------- - Eco-Living - Whole Systems Design Services People - Place - Learning - Integration john@eco-living.net - 510.982.1334 http://eco-living.net http://sociocracyconsulting.com
