I use a hook up at the gooseneck which is good for the first and second reef. The line from the clew runs well into the cockpit area. I run the access line under the nettles in the reef points. For the second reef line I use a method that is hard to verbally describe but is extremely simple. I could provide a picture later as I am out of town On Jun 15, 2012 10:24 PM, "Steve Varley" <eutah10@gmail.com> wrote:
I've been experimenting with reefing systems on my M-15. I've had a few brief reefing experiences in the past with other boats and some of them have been really memorable. But I think with the 15 it's going to be more of a 'normal' thing to do and so I've been trying to find the most equaninimous balance between bliss and panic. Not altogether successful so far as far as keeping the troops happy.
What methods do others use to reef in an 'all in the day's work' frame of mind? I've had two people tell me the one-line quick system is the way to go. But trying it, it's hard to avoid all the lines hanging in my face. The old one thing at a time? Before I invest in anything else I'd like to hear what others are using that is successful. Any reefers out there happy?
