I appreciate everyone pitching in to troubleshoot on this. Just to respond to the suggestions to date: 1. there was NO strap across the middle of the boat - just the one Jim put across the cockpit and the bow strap. 2. I watched the yard lift the boat off the trailer, block it, and put it into the water. No drops. 3. I also was around a lot when the boat was prepped and painted. The guy working on the boat is VERY knowledgeable and reputable here, there was no sanding through. 4. Re suggestions on the Facebook page related to scuppers - there are NO thru-hulls below the waterline on the boat, and no fittings that penetrate the hull below the waterline. The bilge pump is manual and empties about a foot above the waterline. My cockpit drains into the stern lazarette which drains overboard above the waterline. There are no rusty metal tubes leaking into the lazarettes After crawling all through the boat and running my hands over literally every square inch of the hull, I have found ONE culprit, which is located in the salon, on the centerline, just aft of the short bulkhead that supports the after end of the v-berth. In the photo, You can see a small smooth round depression about the size of a circle with a crack in it, and I can wipe it dry and stand there and watch it weep (trust me, I was on the verge of doing the same!!!!). So, what is that round depression about? What might have caused the crack? What can/should I do to fix it? I don’t want to just shove marine tex in there when there might be some wood getting wet and rotting below. Ideas?

Well, I posted about this last night but I don't see my post showing up, so I will try again. I found the leak that Jim described (I bought his boat). About one inch aft of the bulkhead that supports the aft end of the v-berth, on the cabin sole, right in the center, is a small round depression in the fiberglass about the size of a quarter. From looking at the boat drawings, it looks like it is right above the pivot pin. There is a crack about 1" long across that small round area and I can watch water weeping slowly out of that crack. If I could figure out a way to post a photo, I would do that but there does not seem to be a photo option here - I can email one to anyone who asks. I have posted on the facebook page as well. The cabin sole was covered by a small carpet when I bought the boat and put it in the yard for the bottom paint job, so I don't know if the crack was there before the bottom job. Can I fix this in the water with something like marine tex? If I haul it on the trailer, can I fix it from above with real epoxy? Or do I need to get under the boat and fix it from the inside of the centerboard trunk? And, what could hav caused this? I am not sure of the purpose or cause of that little round depression in the glass.
