M_Boats: Headstay Tension

This was my first season sailing with a Jib Furler (Harken Small Boat Furler) I measured the 1 piece headstay prior to having the Jib converted so that the final assembly of Jib and Furler measured the same. I noticed that the headstay appeared looser than when sailing with the hank on Jib. I do have the ability to shorten the headstay as I have a turnbuckle placed between the Jib and bottom Furler. Q: How tight should I be going with the headstay. I presently have about a 5"-6" mast rake. Is 1"-2" rake to little rake?
