After cleaning caked salt out of the cooling water passages, it was a a great running little engine: quiet, and delightful. I can highly recommend it, despite the fact that it is a 2 cycle engine and you have to mix oil with the gasoline (but I only paid $25 for it). Connie
Even my 1.5 horse Cruise'N'Carry seems to have plenty power when motoring into the wind and only weighs 12lbs but the quality and noise level aren't great. It's too bad nobody makes a modern high quality 1 to 1.5 horsepower outboard.
I heard Evinrude made a watercooled 2 stroke 1.5 motor back in the 60s that only weighs 20lbs. I haven't used it but the larger 1960s watercooled Evinrudes were extremely quiet. I think Yamaha and Suzuki also made some ~20lb 2hp watercooled 2 strokes. I don't like worrying about water pumps but the water jacket really dampens the sound.

May be a good deal ... But that 6hp outboard is way way way more motor than needed plus being way way way to heavy. Honda 2.3 is best choice for the M15.
