Hi Rick, As a former big boat owner, who now has the optimum vessel - a Montgomery 15 - it is a different life. Now I go where I have peace and quiet: no PWCs, no Cigarettes, no big powerboats making wakes that roll you out of your berth at night. Costs have gone to almost "0". The boat lives on it's trailer alongside the garage. The only costs are ramp fees when you use it. No summer marina costs / no winter storage costs / no mast storage costs. Boat equipment costs are in the peanut range. If you want to get extravagant with a new Harken block with cam cleat you are looking at $35. Sheets and halyards are small diameter = low price. With the boat next to the garage, a needed tool or another sheet of sandpaper is a quick trip to the cellar shop and back - no long car trips. Another big advantage is by trailering, you can get to a new sailing area in a few hours driving time, that formerly might have taken days of slogging to windward to reach in a big boat. It's a whole new world awaiting your exploration. Have fun. Connie Northeast 38 Tripp-Lentsch 29 Bolger MICRO ComPac 16 Montgomery 15
