The Sage custom 17 trailer DOSEN'T fit a M17. The hull shapes are significantly different. To use a Sage 17 custom trailer the supports for the bunk board brackets require modification: - cut off, angles and heights changed, welded back on and then the trailer regalvanized. or - cut off and adjustable bunkboard brackets bolted to the frame. The spots on the frame where the bunk supports were removed then need regalvanized) Either way the boat must be lifted and held in slings over the trailer to adjust the bunks (this is how the bunks on the 'off the shelf' adjustable shelf trailers are set). If you have access to a gantry not terribly challenging - I've done it multiple times for folks that bought 'standard' S17 trailers (an off the shelf trailer that would fit the M17) and helping people with misadjusted M17 trailers. Besides setting the bunks to confirm to the hull there is the height of the bunks to so the keel is just sitting on the keel bunk - want the hull and shoal keel sharing the boat's weight. :: Dave Scobie :: M6'8" #650 :: SV SWALLOW - sv-swallow.com :: former owner M17 #375 SWEET PEA - m17-375.com :: former owner M15 #288 SCRED - m15namedscred.wordpress.com <<-- new site! Hi All, Someone had asked recently about a low rider trailer For a Sage 17 and would it fit a Monty 17. Dave Scobie said they could work but had to be modified. My CFO just told me that we had one extra trailer for a Sage 17 and he would sell it for a good price. Dave would have to explain how to modify it for a Monty 17. If anyone is still interested? sal
