Hello Richard, Welcome to the group! There are lots of good folk here who have many years of experience sailing all the variations of M-boats, feel free to ask questions. If you are shopping you might want to check this craigslist post https://sandiego.craigslist.org/…/coeur-ale…/7109977501.html <https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/boa/d/coeur-alene-sailboat-montgomery-17/7109977501.html> It was just freshly posted on the Montgomery Sailboat Group Facebook page. It's a 1983 M17, and coincidently very close in vintage to my 1982 M17 which has been great boat for me -> * http://www.msogphotosite.com/Scripts/Boats/boatsdetail.php?id=105 <http://www.msogphotosite.com/Scripts/Boats/boatsdetail.php?id=105>* Cheers & welcome to the group... Hello to all, After looking at a lot of sailboats in 17 foot range Montgomery 17 is first choice. I sailed a Tanzer 16 overnighter, then sold it. I’m retired. I hope to buy a M. 17 in next year. I plan to sail on rivers around Portland and lakes in Oregon. take care, Dick Z.
