Doug: Lots of RV camping around Flathead. I know of a couple launch ramps ... but haven't used them. One is in Lakeside (upper northwest side of lake) called on Google 'flathead lake boat ramp'. The second is near Bigfork (upper northeast side of lake) called Eagle Bend Yacht Harbor. The latter is where a Sage 17 was moored. In both cases check water level as as I've been told if lake low the ramps shallow quickly. I've been told, by two Sage 17 owners that keep their boats on Flathead, the bottom is rocky and can be difficult to anchor. There are people that do - local knowledge thing. Summer wind usuall blow hard, at times very hard, in the northern end in the morning and goes calm about noon and for the rest of the day. South end is calm in the morning and increases to hard blows in the afternoon. Had three S17's sailing there a few.yeara ago - https://sagemarineblog.wordpress.com/2016/05/18/sage-17s-seen-from-space/ :: Dave Scobie :: M17 #375 SWEET PEA - m17-375.com :: M6'8" #650 :: SV SWALLOW - sv-swallow.com On Sat, Nov 24, 2018, 8:53 PM doug <doug9326@gmail.com wrote:
My wife and I are wanting to head to Flathead Lk. in Montana this summer for some sailing. I have a M15 and would trailer it there from Bend, OR. I am looking for anyone who has info on the marinas or campgrounds with docks on the lake. I would like to leave the mast stepped for several days and in a slip if possible. In looking at info on the lake there does not appear to be a marina except in Finley. And its a small one. And if anyone is planning on heading that direction this summer, please let me know so we can do some sailing together.
Thanks
