What's a good topside paint / method? On the bottom use Interlux 2000E as a barrier coat. Then anti fowling paint over that. Use a different color barrier coat so when your anti fowling is getting thin you can see thru to the barrier coat. As usual preparation is everything. Sent from my iPad

Yeah, I rebuilt that boat for Sean and it won the Cruiser Challenge. Thanks to Larry and Sean. New keel, the windows and drop boards. Photo of the new bottom below.
Stan Susman is in Arizona for the Ran Tan. Well, gel coat is out. Too much after work. No booth to spray Awlgrip. I would consider Roll and Tip with a special brush. You can thin the paint so it flows nicely. Some can also be power buffed a bit. Not expensive. Looks good from a 1/4 mile away....haha..just kidding.
Wait for Stanley to get back in town next week.

Hey, that's Sean's old boat! Sorry, no advice on painting, other than talk to Stan "Paintboy" Stussman (sp?). He's the expert. That's a great boat you have there. Very fast! We won the Cruiser Challenge in her a few years ago. All she needed back then was some cosmetic attention. Glad to see you're fixing her up.

I have a 1973 Monty 17 #44. The hull has been sanded. I am in need of advice on how to proceed with topside painting and bottom painting. Any experience with methods and materials appreciated! With what I have read online and elsewhere in am totally confused. Thanks Jon Barber, Modesto, CA
