Hi, Bill: I had the same issue on my '83 model. To block the gap, I bought one of those brightly colored closed-cell foam "logs" sold for swimming toys, cut it to appropriate lengths and halved them, and jammed the pieces into the gaps. The fit is snug and the gas smell is gone. I think the logs I bought were about eight or so inches in diameter. Does anybody else have this?
Maybe someone can do a poll on this at Lake Havasu. Check out the newer and the older boats in attendance to see if the aft locker is closed up on either side. You really have to get right down and look up into the locker. Sure wish I was there. Hope it all goes well and everyone has a good time.
Thanks
