Which ever craft you buy, you should seriously consider having Bob Eeg install an anchor eye-bolt in the cockpit and on the bow in order to attach jack-lines that can be strung outside the stays. Then each of you use a harness and tether. Also, have him install an aft boarding ladder. Otherwise, a man overboard situation could be life-threatening. Six hundred pounds in the cockpit may be a problem in an M15. Someone like Doug Kelch, who is very familiar with the performance of the M15 coud give informed comments on the effect of that passenger weight. -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Mark Holcomb Sent: Saturday, September 29, 2007 8:17 PM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: M_Boats: pre-purchase advise I am trying to decide between the M15 and M17. One issue is the weight my wife and I will add into the sailing equation. We are both 300lbs each. Does this make a difference in what to purchase. Suggestions please.
