Capsized means the boat went upside down. I believe what you experienced was a knockdown. -----Original Message----- From: Dave Scobie <scoobscobie@gmail.com> To: For and about Montgomery Sailboats <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Thu, Sep 10, 2015 1:21 pm Subject: Re: M_Boats: Capsized glad to read you are fine. -- :: Dave Scobie :: former M15 owner - www.freewebs.com/m15-named-scred :: M17 #375 SWEET PEA - www.m17-375.webs.com On Thu, Sep 10, 2015 at 2:15 PM, V Gates <fairoaksca8139@gmail.com> wrote:
Our Montgomery 15 is a good boat. We were sailing on Union Valley Reservoir in the Crystal basin near Kyburz off of Highway 50. We were stopped and then suddenly hit by a strong gust at an exact 90 degrees. It threw me to the down side and our boat capsized. Within seconds it righted itself. There was no water in the cabin or on the mainsail. We were fine.
