Thanks Lenny. Any way to calculate the Amps a 50 lb thrust Minn Kota would draw pushing 1,800 - 2,000 lbs of boat? The answer would be, "get an amp-meter", right? --Craig ----- Original Message ----- From: "L Smith" <lsmith56@cox.net> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, February 10, 2003 8:54 PM Subject: Electrical Question That's a bit like comparing apples to oranges..........IMHO I think the chart should read Amps/Hp.........or lb.thrust/HP.......Like any good equation, you need two of the values to find the unknown.........Even knowing the Hp/weight ratio would not give you an accurate projected speed......ie. hull shape, displacement, yadda, yadda, yadda. At 756 watts/HP you can determine the power consumption..........thence, E=IxR and P=IxE. Now, you know,,,,,,,,,,,,,the rest of the story.......................hehehe. Lenny
