Go for it! I paid $2500 for my 1979 M17 earlier this year and believe I got a bargain. Mine didn't come with a motor (l'm looking for one), the keel works but has not been refurbished, and the transom needs major repair. Recently, a 1982 M-17 came up for sale, $2500. She's in ok but not great shape. No major problems that I can find. Centerboard has been dropped, sanded and epoxied. Boat is dirty and has some cushions but they really don't fit. She comes with a ok trailer, new lights and bearings. Boat has electric system missing. 4 hp 2-stroke johnson. Am I a idiot for buying her? I just want to find out if it suits me better that my 15. Thanks, Ches
