FYI the boat when weighed had all the essential sailing rigging and gear in it, including the outboard, boom, rudder, fenders, sails, PFDs and throw cushions, lines, misc. small items, but nothing much else. No battery as the one it came with was shot and I haven't replaced it yet. One of the trailer documents (title or registration or something) has 250 as weight but I have no idea where that number came from. I think it is probably more like 350-400. I suppose it could be as much as 500, I'll weight it alone some day. cheers, John S. On 09/24/2015 09:37 AM, Thomas Buzzi wrote:
John, My boat and trailer with no gear on the boat is right around 2100 pounds with 500 of that being the new trailer. I use a Chevy 1500 with a 327 cu.in. engine to haul it. Tom B

PS - weighed my M17 and trailer on the way to the lake, at a certified truck scale.
Shows 2120 for boat and trailer, and 3840 for my Subaru. The Subaru weight is a little high per spec, so maybe the boat/trailer was as much as 2220. Not sure how those big truck scales handle smaller loads. I just parked it where they told me to and that's what the result was.
I'll try and weight the trailer alone sometime eventually.
cheers, John S.
