It's fun to watch them flinch. When I do purchase from them, I usually have a catalog or web reference that shows the product I want at a much reduced price. They will match prices. For example, I wanted a Tempress hatch cover to put in the seat of my CDory. Cabella's was $49ish, and I think Worst Marine wanted $69ish. I got it for the Cabella's price. I can't tell you how excited I was when UPS dropped off my new 150 Genoa. I got over it right away the minute I opened the West Marine catalogue and added upt the cost for the track, cars, blocks and sheets. More than the sail.
Where are you skippers buying your hardware? Any less expensive than West Marine?
Maybe I will just rig the new Genoa as a flat sail to shade the cockpit while on the mooring at Catalina.
I really appreciate the great response and advice on rigging my new Genoa.
