I've used Starboard for the bottom board on my M-15. The standard sized Starboard sold on-line fit with just a little trim work. I did not replace my top board because only the bottom board delaminated. Additionally, the width of the top board exceeds the width of commonly available Starboard. I have to replace my companionway hatch boards. The track will accept 3/4 inch thick stock. Any suggestions for type of wood to use? Will something other than expensive teak work?Should the ends be splined to prevent warping from the sun?
