Gil, In addition to John's M-specific info, you might find this helpful: http://www.harken.com/rigtips/spinnaker.php The arrangement most likely to be used on an M17 is the first one on the page. That first diagram could've been a little more clear. The inner blue line with the block labeled "B" is the topping lift and it runs from the middle of the pole up to block "B" on mid mast. Does the starboard side of the chute attach to the mast at the same point as the pole? I see you have an upper and a lower line attached to the pole, my mast has a block attached 3/4 of the way up. I assume this is what its for, what do you attach the bottom line to? gil -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces+gilbert=mindgame.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces+gilbert=mindgame.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Saltm17@aol.com Sent: Thursday, September 15, 2005 6:52 PM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: M_Boats: spinnaker pictures Gil, I have one of Miss T sailing down Chesapeake Bay under spinnaker. It was taken from onboard Miss T and you can only see the lower three panels of the spinnaker, but it does show how the pole was set. I'll send it to your email address.
